Hartz Club of America By-Laws
- The name of the organization shall be the Hartz Club of America.
- The purpose of the organization shall be:
(a) To promote the best interest of the Domestic Hartz Canaries.
(b) To encourage the membership to breed and exhibit birds as near
to the adopted standards as possible.
(c) To provide ribbons to local clubs and to the National Show
on request.
- Officers of the organization shall consist of a President and
Secretary-Treasurer.
- The President shall exercise a general supervision over all interests
of the club, appoint any special committees when necessary, and fill all
vacancies specified as the duty of the Board. The President will also be
ex-office chairman of the Board.
- The Secretary-Treasurer will conduct the correspondence for the
club, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures and make
full reports when necessary. The Secretary-Treasurer may pay out
money for routine expenses and such other authorized monies as are
required for the conduct of the office.
- The Board of Directors shall consist of President,
Secretary-Treasurer, and two other members elected by the membership
and shall have the authority to conduct all necessary business for the
club as is necessary between the regular annual meetings.
- The President and Board members shall be elected annually at the
annual meeting the organization at the National Show.
- The Secretary-Treasurer shall not be an elective office.
The term of office shall be indefinite and the position filled
by the Board through appointment.
- All members in good standing are eligible for office. The term
of office shall be from January 1st following the election at the
annual meeting, as stated above to January 1st of the succeeding year.
- There shall be chared against and payable by all of the
organization regular dues which shall be paid at the rate of $15.00
per U.S. family and $17.00 per Canadian family annually. Failure to
pay dues or other fees required by these by-laws within three (3)
months of the due date results in the automatic suspension of
membership of the individual so dilinquent. Officers of the
association so delinquent automatically vacate the office they hold.
New members, joining after September 1st, may apply their dues to the
following year.
- The rules for procedure at the annual meeting shall be:
(a) Call meeting to order
(b) Recognize New Members present and guest
(c) Roll call of Board of Directors
(d) Minutes of last meeting
(e) Treasurer Report
(f) Old Business
(g) Report from the standing Chairpersons
(h) Communications
(i) Announcements
(j) Adjournments
- Retiring officers shall deliver to their successors all properties
belonging to the club.
- Any By-Law many be repealed, altered or a new one adopted at any
meeting of the association by two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership
present or by mail when approved by two-thirds (2/3) vote of the
ballots returned by the membership.
- The standards of perfection recognized by the Hartz Club of
America will be the official Judging standards for the organization.
The organization shall strive for the adoption of the classification
used and outlined by the membership of the organization. All
patronage awards will be approved by the President and shall be open
awards place without restriction on the Hartz Club of America. Any
such restriction shall be the responsibility of the local club making
the awards.
