I have two pair that are 8/9 years old and have yet to give any signs of breeding. As far as I know, they've never even ventured into their nest boxes.

I held the first pair of Greenwinged Macaws for 11 years before they went to nest. Both of them were surgically sexed by Scott McDonald before setting them up. The male had just weaned when I purchased him and the hen was mature when I purchased her. They were together for about 9 years before going nest.

This probably is not a "normal" situation, but it is what happened here.

Are these birds a true pair or just two put together. They will have to bond before any breeding will take place. They can breed at their age. Some birds will bond with another very quickly and some may never bond with the one you want them too. If the birds are a true male and female just leave them alone. It may take years or just a few months. But if all conditions are right and they bond they will breed someday.
