I know and I am so tempted to keep him/her but I really don't have a big enough aviary and I am a sucker for pieds and we were going to keep the pieds, Saffron and Mango  sighhhh
I wanna keep em all!!!!!!!

So Christie, Noah (dad) would have to be split for pearl, right???

Keep all of them Claudia! It does not take much more room for 2 or 3 birds vs. 6 or 7. You can always improvise on things that space might have limiting it. You are so lucky to have such a variegated clutch, especially for the pied. I'm a sucker for pieds also, and Missy, while a royal pain in the butt sometimes really is one of my favorites. Of course, Gizmo is a pearl, and he actually still has a few pearls showing, but nothing like when he was a wee birdie. Your chicks are growing so fast.. I know time is moving at warp speed for me, but seems like it'd be nice to keep them at the formative age for a bit longer. You'll probably be hearing flapping going on in the box if you haven't already. Fledging will happen without any fanfare if they do like mine did. Be in the cage, then all of a sudden 4 birdies come flying into the kitchen. What a display ...<sigh>

oh Sam, you make me laugh
I would love to keep them all, even hubby said today, we could get another aviary  I beg your pardon honey? WHAT did you just say??????
Yeah, well, take one educated guess WHO cleans the aviary every day
YEP you got it
ME :D

I think we're in for another suprise though...........Mango, the littlest one with who also has a yellow crest..............seems to have pearl markings too!!!!!
Does that mean, since Mango has a yellow crest, that (s)he is a Pied Pearl??? (Pearl Pied??? ) or do Pearls sometimes get born with yellow crests too??

I will be more definite on Monday as Mango should be heaps more feathered again by then............

Yes, my guess is that Noah is also split for pearl. Lucky you!!! And like you discovered, yes, pied birds can also be pearl. Lucky you!
