I've been watching several of the last clutch plucking their chosen "mate" -- brothers and sisters. Between them being plucked by Missy, and now, them plucking each other while preening, does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop it? Separation is completely out of the question, and when I see it happening, I try to get them to separate, but usually, they just fly back near each other and resume. Daisy & Cuddles, Bandy and someone else are the primary two pair. I think Bandy and J.J. are kind of hanging out with each other, but the plucking is not one sided. Each birdie has plucked areas on the back of the neck, head and even over the ear holes. It's frustrating to see this, and I'm at wits end to figure out a way to stop it.

Linus has done that to Lucille because he wants to mate. He makes a serious pest of himself.Lucille needs a break from him but they only thing I can suggest is put them in separate cages right next to each other (with perches facing next to the cage). This is what I do for Lucille and Linus. They are fine with this so long as they can see each other. I do give them supervised playtime outside cage but during the day he makes a pest of himself.
If the ear spots are showing because of the plucking then the male is REEEEALLY being a demanding pain.
