What is a good diet for Budgie's, I worry about there health because they are so small and my caught a cold at the pet store, so we went to the Vet. for antibotc she is well now but Iam very careful with her. Also does anybody know much about Tropimix food :?:

Diet is a controversial subject, one that you may get very many different opinions on. IMO, it's best to go with a dye-free diet, with little to no sunflower seeds. Maybe find 2-3 plain bird seed mixes (not fortified, and not dyed or mixed with pellets), and mix them together (such as a canary/finch mixed with a budgie mix?). You can add pellets to the diet as well. I'd recommend Zupreem, Roudybush, TOP, Foundation Formula, maybe Lafebers... get the sizes in canary/crumbles/parakeet. There's a big hype on pellets, but I really wouldn't suggest feeding more than 40-50% pellets. Of course you may not want to have dry seeds to be a part of the main diet either... Sprouted seeds are much healtheir, as well as a wide range of veggies, some fruits, whole grain breads/pastas, cooked eggs, and cooked beans. The more fresh foods you feed, and a variety, the healthier your bird will be!

Dairy Products (birds are lactose intolerent-feed small amounts-cleaned/cooked eggs and yogurt fine)

Caffeine
Salt

Food Dyes
Sulfites (found in dried fruits and veggies to help preserve them-only from health food store)
