I got an unexpected macaw FIX this weekend when I went to buy pellets and got into a whispering, bomb-dropping exchange with the shop bird, a hybrid named Cheeto. Not up on hybrids, but she looked mostly B&G with orange, so maybe a scarlet mix :?: :?: :?: Not especially pretty but OHHHH did she remind me why macaws are so special with all that pinning eye contact.

I go there every 3 months and have spoken to her each time without ever getting any response before. In fact, I began ordering online a couple years ago because I thought she seemed sick, and I didn't want to risk bringing home a package or dust on me that had been near her. Then I ran short and had to rush there for more, and was relieved to see her looking healthy, but still not interested in all the humans approaching her cage by the register. So good to now see her fully engaged -- and with ME
