How to leave feedback

Postby damian on Wed Jul 09, 2008 5:59 pm

We're doing everything we can to help support and protect our readers and I'm hoping this is another layer to the solution. We've implemented a feedback system that in my opinion, is short and sweet. Let's go through how it works...

The feedback system can be accessed many ways. Either towards the upper right portion of the screen where you have the ability to see the "Best" users or from just about everywhere you see a users profile. The "Best" of area and your personal feedback looks like this:

Whereas you also have the ability to look at a particular seller, buyer or poster by clicking on the red/black/green which looks like this:

The 3 values are just what you'd probably guess, Green = positive, Black = Neutral and Red = Negative. There are also 3 values these can be given or received for. Buying, Selling and Overall Bird or Aviculture Knowledge.

If we were to click on a user's profile at any point, it would bring up the details of the feedback. Here we're looking at the feedback details of joeuser:

From here, if you had an opinion or had a dealing with joeuser, you could simply click on the "Add Feedback" button and provide a short description of your interaction. Please note, feedback is limited to one time per user. i.e. janetester could only leave one feedback against joetester. This is to prevent spam abuse to either raise or lower a given persons feedback unjustly. If at anytime you change your mind on the person you have previously left feedback for, you could simply return and change your feedback.

The screen for adding feedback looks like this:

We're hoping this will help the community to avoid the pitfalls of dealings on the internet. Remember, there is no catch all solution to any problem. Instead, abide by standard procedures and always be cautious in your dealings. Look at this new features as yet another layer to help you protect yourself.

Enjoy the system,

Damian
The key to happiness is to avoid ever putting salt in your eye. Not matter how tempted and curious you may be, consider it unwise. Those who are still willing to attempt such a feat should at the very least have a video recording system handy so others may benefit by watching your mistake take place...
