I have eggs!!! Yay

Postby crazy4tiels88 on Wed Jun 18, 2008 9:00 pm

I have two new eggs!! Chiquita & Popeye are great parents, very protective this season, Hopefully chiquita doesn't pluck the chicks either this time. Chiquita is 3 years old and is a cinnamon pearl pied and is very pretty, Popeye is a 10 year old rescue bird and is a Lutino pied that must be split for pearl cause last year they had 3 100% pearl pied male chicks!! We will see this season. well i am excited and will also breed my Lutino/whiteface too.

Plucking chicks could be an indicator that they need more calcium. Mom might be just trying to recycle the calcium. However once they start that it may not end. I used to have a female who would start plucking so I always had to pull the babies as soon as the pinfeathers starting coming in!
