I'll jump in to pass my $0.02 worth. Baytril was originally designed for the poultry industry and was used quite often with good results. At some point, the FDA banned the use of it because the drug was showing up in chicken meat, and Baytril is not designed for human consumption or use. AFAIK, it is still available through vets and perhaps online, but since I don't buy online that type of stuff, maybe or maybe not available. If Baytril were unsafe to use in birds, it would be removed as well. I trust my vet to have knowledge of what is and is not good for the kids.
