Just wondering how loud can green wing macaw be? I have a b/g macaw at home, she is pretty quiet. I live in a townhouse, and I don't have any problem with her at all. I am thinking about either a pair of Med. sulphur cockatoo or a pair of greenwing macaws, any suggestion?

Hi I wouldnt put macaws together with cockatoos. Cockatoos put out alot of dust ,more than most other birds.Macaws have problems with the dust. If you put a pair of macaws in your house you will have noise. Your bird will talk to then also. Just be aware. But its hard to say how loud. You wont know untill you do it . Have fun Mark

Well I can only tell you what happened to me. We had a Greenwing & added a B & G. Now the Greenwing was pretty quiet. However once the B & G (she was in a different room) & the GW became buddies after the appropriate time, the two of them bicker like an old married couple when together (typical macaw behavior) & scream for each other when apart. So you decide what you want but I wouldn't do it in a townhouse for sure.

They can be pretty loud. Here is a video of my male GW, Arthur, making his happy jungle noises. It should give you an idea of what they can produce, decibel-wise, and he does this several times/day:

The bird you hear calling back in the background is Ceilidh, one of my Scarlet Macaws. Not appropriate birds for a townhouse, unless it's extremely well insulated, imho.
