What Gender is my Gouldian?

Postby teenybirdies on Fri May 30, 2008 8:24 pm

I'm new to Gouldians, and I bought an uncolored one, now he or she has almost completly colored out. I think it's an Orange Head, Lilac Breast male, but I'm not sure. What do you think?

What is the behavior of the bird? Does it just chirp, or does it hop and sing as well? Right now since you can't really see the blue ring, it is hard to tell, but it looks female at the moment to me. I haven't seen any juvinile males because my first breeding pair that had chicks color out hatched all females.

Hi I think you have a female , as the beak is turning black .
male's turns on the red side in the green backs.
but if she starts singing ,she's a he . best of luck , Miles
