R.I.P. My dear little Pearl

Postby Lar271 on Sun May 25, 2008 8:40 pm

Our female cockatiel Pearl passed early this am 5/24. Her mate Pepper is wondering where she is, crying/screaming for her. We had her for almost a year. I immediately got her to hand feed, and be a lovable bird. She would always land on my head. She pooped a couple of times! I hope to get another female for Pepper. Our house is a little emptier today, kind of sad.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

If you do choose to get another bird, please remember to follow all quarantine procedures. You will need two cages and two rooms to keep them in. This is for the saftey of both birds.

I am so sorry for your loss. Loss of a loved pet is so hard, sadly many of us know. Be sure to watch her mate for signs of depression. Hopefully you will find another mate for him that will help your heart heal, but I know it will never fill the space Pearl had.
