I made some Beak Apetit for Luna tonight - and added more rice, millet and some mustard greens to the mix. I gave her some for dinner and she dove right in - beak first

So, a while later after it was all cooled, i left Luna in the living room so I could portion, wrap and freeze the leftovers - she would not be quiet!! Calling over and over and over

Finally I gave in and put her on my shoulder, cleared stuff off the counter and continued my task. Well, you know how they are when your doing something - have to be right there in the middle of it! So I put some food on the counter for her to keep her out of the plastic wrap (yeah right), and of course she is all over the place - eating off the counter, trying to eat the plastic wrap -NO!! etc.

She already had dinner; beak apetit, avicake, seed, mustard green AND millet for a snack PLUS the stuff on the counter she was eating as if I hadn't fed her all day!! Was that enough? NO it wasn't The little stinker got up on the side of the pot and was eating out of the pot!! I wish I had my camera - food all over her beak and she was reaching and stretching so far in the pot I thought she would fall in

I don't know who enjoyed her eating more! I love feeding her and watching her eat! She does it with such enthusiasm!

Those cook and serve mixes are GREAT! I do the same thing with my birds!

Which flavor did you use??? I have made a couple different ones and my birds don't touch it. I wish they would. Maybe they would like a different flavor - I usually get the ones with rice more than beans.

Mine snubbed their little noses up at the beak apetite as well. They do love when I cook rice & beans & veggies from scratch. (Spoiled rotten)

Try the Nuts For Alfredo flavor. That's the one that mine like the best.

I'll have to go back to the store to see what ones I use! lol

Luna likes Cream of Tweet and Nuts for Alfredo. This batch was Cream of Tweet and I added another cup of water and put in 1/2 cup or so of 10 min brown rice, about 1/2 cup millet (cooks like rice not the spray! ) and I chopped some mustard greens.

I bet if you handle the food in front of the little darlings, it will encourage them to eat it. I really wish I had my camera ready, she was so far stretched into the pot I thought she was going to fall in

The store didn't have the one that I normally get. I did buy some Crazy corn today though. Original and the pasta one.

I tried one of those before and Rosie didn't like it. I will try those 2 flavors for her tho since they seem to be pretty popular.

That is so cute of Luna, I love it when Rosie sits on the edge of the bowl and digs her little head in there and pigs out. She loves to do that with Tomatoes it's unreal how much she loves those things!!

QUESTION: On the Cream of Tweet... When it's done does it have like pieces of brown pepper looking stuff in it?? OR did I scrape some off the bottom of the pan that stuck the last 2 minutes of it cooking??

I bet if you have the food on a plate for yourself, or start packing it up to freeze with Rosie near you - she'll dig in!!

Sometimes I add other ingredients to the mix - try mixing her favorite pellets in with it when you give it to her. When she eats the pellet, she will get some of the other food with it.

Remember to offer it every day so she gets used to seeing it!
