We've run into issues where people have repetitive questions, regular users have provided repetitive answers. What if we as a community could have a repository where we could place all our knowledge and have others edit, critique, add to, and correct? Where everyone could share ideas and thoughts in one place? An online collaborative FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) which could answer questions asked by the first time owner to the full fledged breeder. Well, we now have that ability.
Some questions and answers before we go on...
* Why do I have to request access? Well first off, spammers. Leaving the system open for anonymous access would be just too tempting for abuse. I think it needs a little accountability. As for not allowing all members to edit, adding editing rights could confuse some so by asking more computer savvy people to register it will allow the less computer savvy folks less worry of making accidental edits.
* Do I need a different user name and password? No, it will use your existing user name and password from the Up At Six Chat Community but you do need to re-authenticate. Passing session data may be something I look into in the future but for now it will be its own 'session'.
* How do I get to it? http://www.upatsix.com/wiki/
* Once I'm in, where do I start contributing? Try Wanted Pages or Wanted Categories
* How do I request access to edit? Follow these instructions:
I can take up to 48 hours for you to be accepted into the group. You'll receive an email once we've acknowledged your request. You will then have access to add/remove/edit the Up At Six Wiki.
Please use the UASWiki Chat Room for educated and adult discussion. Yes, there will be different points of view but BOTH can be placed in the Wiki as there is no single best way of doing things. Lets all remember... we're here for the same reason.
We hope you enjoy the addition and look forward to picking everyone's brains for new knowledge =)
