Mine (2 purebred Scarlets, 2 hybrids--one is 3/4 Scarlet and the other is 7/8ths Scarlet) are in many ways the same, but in many ways totally different. 3 of the 4 of them are extremely affectionate with me and really want physical interaction. The fourth (Bowie) is very affectionate with me, but prefers a less "touchy-feely" relationship. He wants to be held, but not snuggled, for example.
They are ALL extremely intelligent, very sensitive, and not afraid to use their beaks to explore their world--or get their point across. The female purebred Scarlet would spend all day on me, and want nothing more than to nibble snackies from my hand and give kisses. The male purebred wants to be on me all the time--so I can serve as a ladder or bridge to things he wants to explore *grins*. The male 3/4 Scarlet would be on me 24/7 given the choice, but is a jealous and possessive "lover" who will bite others (human or animal) who want my attention, or he'll bite ME (hard!) if he can't reach the others. The male 7/8ths Scarlet is happy to hang out on my arm for however long and eat snackies from my hand, but allowing him on my shoulder would be foolhardy--he bites pretty hard when he gets bored. I've got bruises on my shoulder from times he's done just that.
They are all nippy in that they communicate and explore their world with their beaks. Because they are all sensitive, if you offend them, they're quicker to let you know with a pinch. Because they're intelligent, they plan before they act, but YOU'D better not take too much time getting them what they want, or they'll let you know that, too

.
I find them to be great fun, and I love them with all my heart. I couldn't imagine life without Scarlets.
