I gave that bird site because they have alot of experiance with rehomed birds that have problems. The reason I post here to get or give information. It seems to me that there are members here that are more interested in what should I call it self gradification then helping someone that needs it and if that means offering another site so be it. This site is losing members because of the childish post that happen more often everyday.

I thought you'd gotten past all that stuff. Seemed to me that your own posts for months now were consistently informative. Sorry the earlier conflicts are what you still think of here. Aren't there other sites where you could exchange info without being bothered? Doesn't sound healthy or wise to stick with a gang you feel is only into ridicule.

This site is always going to land on its feet and if people don't like it here, they don't have to stay. If it's that bad, why bother posting? I know the board you are referring to and in my opinion they remind me of the Borg. The only opinion over there is that of the board owner. If there was a free give and take of information, that's great but as far as they are concerned over there, they know it all. I tried to help someone on that board who had a behaviour problem, and got reamed out for sending them to the PBAS list which is not even a bird board but a yahoo list dedicated to behaviour problems. When there are bird people who think they know more than Dr. Susan Friedman about behaviour and suggest negative things like grabbing the beak or putting the bird in a tub or holding the bird on its back until it gives in, that's not a place I would be sending people to get help. I left the board because some of the things going on there made me very uncomfortable. I was asked to be a moderator there and turned that down because I don't think moderators are needed on any board. This board has been running for a long time without moderators and has done just fine. We are all adults, aren't we?

As far as diet issues or plucking, there are several great lists for that. One is the Feeding Feathers list and the other is a plucking list by Cheryl Rose. These people know what they are talking about and it's rooted in science not what someone thinks you should do or what worked with their bird.

Happens lots of places. It's essential to keep correcting the harmful advice each time it gets repeated by those who don't keep current:

Thanks for all the help. Not sure I understand the comments between a couple of you, but thanks for the other input. I plan to put it to use.
Kinda new to bird loving but I do love them dearly. Proud owner of two very loving blue and gold macaws and a greenwing macaw that I wouldn't take the world for. I just think Macaws are the worlds best birds (personal opionion ofcourse, but it is mine)
