Actually, I consider this a bird AND a people site. It is a place for people to get answers to questions and to connect to others who have birds.

Unless you are a moderator, I don't think it is your place to tell others what they can and cannot comment on. Topics frequently go off on other tangents.

I understand that but when Frantom threatens me and my family I don't want her posting questions on here. You guys don't know what is going on. Last time I posted about my birds Frantom came on here and would not leave me alone, I don't want that to start again. She treatened to call children services on me so I just want her to leave me alone. She is making everyone turn against me because she is salty towards my mother. I just want answers about my bird from people other than Frantom. Thank you. I don't want problems so please Frantom leave me alone and my family.

There are MANY other places where you can get information on how many nuts to feed your bird. There's no reason to continue running into her here. What does your avian vet say? You could email or PM any number of hyacinth breeders. Use Google to find the info. As you've said, this is a place for talking about our birds, not for airing personal problems or waging private warfare.

I realize that you and Frantom have a history, and apparently not a good one; HOWEVER, there was nothing in her post for you to get upset about. The part you quoted is at the bottom of all her posts, not just in the post answering your question. When you post a question, ANYONE who is a member of this site is welcome to post an answer. You don't get to decide who you allow to answer. If you only want answers from certain people and not others, you should just email or PM them directly.

Can we all quit posting ANYTHING on this item, and let it fade away ?
It would be helpful if, from now on, we ignored posts of this type.

Exactly why I don't post here anymore. Some users think they can tell people what they are allowed to say and think.

NUTS

Postby cherane on Sun Dec 23, 2007 5:11 am

I feed my Hyacinths (up to eight pairs) since July a variety of nuts, pine, hazel, chestnuts, walnuts, brazel, almonds and palm nuts off palm trees.
Since speaking to Dr. Heather (who climbed into the caves to hold and examine the Hyacinth chicks) about their diet, the Hyacinth does not eat macadamia nuts so I stopped feeding any macadamia nuts to my Hyacinths.
They do have at will all day and night a variety of mixed nut available at their will to eat. No pellet is supplied at all to my Hyacinths. Fresh fruits are and those veggies they like are also supplied.

Their blood count is great since the change. One more note of which I do give my Hyacinths, FRONTIER KELP is also avialable in a side dish for my Hyacinths.

Their is a major change in behavior with the screams for mac nuts is over. My opinion is the Hyacinth is just as addicted to the mac nut as surely once we had problems with the sunflower seed.

To much of one thing is never good, a variety if available is best.

JMO and experience soon twenty years.
