Blue Head Macaw

Postby Denis on Tue Oct 23, 2007 1:10 pm

Has anyone ever seen a blue head macaw on display at a zoo or any facility other then Susan Clubb's? I am looking for a female preferably around a year or two of age. If you might know where there is one to be purchased would you please let me know. They are great birds and aren't very noisy. The interesting thing is that there is very little written on these birds and most people when you say blue heads say don't you mean blue and gold's? Any private breeder information would be appreciated.

Thanks, Denis :)

Where did your pictures go of your blue heads? I wanted to see them, but I couldn't find the section that you said that they would be under? Thanks, Denis

Scroll down to the BHM'S photos. I have not posted the female SHEENA that has JUST joined the aviary.

I'm looking for a male unrelated to any of the other BHM's here at my establishment.

October the 7th my photos of my Blue Headed Macaws went out to BREEDERS@aviculture.org and also PARROTS R US groups .
Also, on the same date this page or above link was published with my photod of my BHM's.

Your photos of your BHM are exceptional on your web site.

WatchBird magazine that just came to me yesterday has an article on the captive breeding program which includes the BLUE HEADED MACAW success by Dr. Susan Clubb, Kevin Clubb and the assistant, Micky. They reared 11 chicks of which Thank God , Kevin and Micky I have two of those eleven that are unrelated pair.

One female that is related to your BHM.

Anyway, please read all about how to legally import written by Mary Le Page.
