We will be bringing home a Hahn's Macaw this weekend. She is 2 1/2 months old (already weaned). It's amazing how these birds grab your heart. She's already talking and likes to say "Hi!/Hello! Step up!" to everyone she meets as she lifts up her foot. She's also working on saying "I love you!" I'll post some pictures soon.

We had a debate between "Jewel" and "Jade". We finally settled on "Jewel".

We just got her home and we love her already... even if she's still growing her feathers in and a little grouchy... We put her in her cage when we got home with the door open and she came to the door and said "Hello! Step up!" and lifted her little foot. Since then she's been wanting to be with us...

We had our "well baby" exam today with the avain and everything was normal. So the worst worry is over... now to just wait out the quarintine...
