New outdoor flight nearly finished!

Postby conniep on Wed Aug 29, 2007 9:45 am

My husband has been working feverously the past few weeks to get the flight finished for my Cockatoos & Hyacinths. It is 99% finished, just some decorative things to take care of on the outside. The Cockatoo side of the flight was finished last night so Kona & Nikki will be going out today for the first time.

The Hyacinths were able to experience their new flight for the first time Monday and they really seemed to enjoy it. There was about an hour of loud vocalizing in the beginning as they became adapted to new sights & sounds, especially seeing cows & a horse for the first time in the nearby pasture! Neither of these birds have known any other home but mine, for Goliath, he's been in the same house/birdroom for nearly 10 years so this is a big change for him. Here is the link to all the photos. http://www.allforahorse.com/new_flight.htm

I haven't posted in ages, for those that don't know....I am in the process of moving to a new location, only 15 miles from my present home (which is for sale). My husband & I purchased a 20 acre farm, we will eventually build a new home on it once my current house is sold. There is a link to "our farm" within the bird flight page, check it out! Here is a photo of Gia from Monday, posturing for the camera. Image

Will have photos of the Cockatoos up by tomorrow.

Connie P? Do you remember me?

Hi there, Pat Bodie, I use to own Starbuck, U2. I haven't been in upatsix for about 3 to 4 years.
I now own a bird store in Florida. I have a few of my own at home. My pride and joy is a B&G, female named Archie. We named her before her DNA test.
I hand feed all sorts of babys, B&G, Greys, Amazons and a lot of little ones, Quakers, Love Birds, Tiels, Alexandrine, Derbyans. I can have hands on all the birdies I want, its great.
I still have Molly, caique, shes 8 years old. Starbuck is living in Jupiter FLorida, he has a pool and a momma who spoils him rotten. He loves gardening, I'm told and hanging out with Snowball, his roomie, sort of . Shes a one legged U2, you don't even want to know that story.
So wow! A lot has happened for you. I 'm very happy for you.
    And the move sounds wonderful.
    Take care.
    Pat
