beware of Avian Oasis

Has anyone bought anything from the Avian Oasis?
I purchased 10 tree stands from them and everyone of them except one, had drywall screws sticking out of the wood and the wood where they screwed the perches together was cracked because they did not predrill the wood. They did not plug any of the holes where they did countersink the holes. Most holes were not even countersunk.
I also purchased 15 cage top stands and they were barely held together. I do not even think a lovebird would have felt secure on the perches, they were that loose.
The owner told me to go ahead and rework them to make them right and he would reimburse me for my time not to mention the materials needed to plug and sand all the holes.
After doing much of the work he decided that these photo's represent a "normal" tree stand of his and that no reimbursement would be forth coming after all. I have probably over 100 photos of flaws in their workmanship. None of the photos being duplicated!
Be very careful of who you buy from out there folks. Get references! Ask around at bird fairs and on the forums.
Please don't make it have to take a lawsuit to get what you originally paid for. What a shame.

I noticed you were from Illinois. There is a pet store in Burlington Iowa (The Coral Reef (319)758-6796) They have a man that makes fantastic tree playstands. The wood is bird safe and predrilled and all screws etc.... are stainless steel. They are a little pricey but you really get what you pay for.

    John,

I have spoken to you over the phone about this... yes, Trevor at Avian Oasis is not my idea of an honest business man! I waited two weeks beyond the expected delivery date and got a story every time I called him. I also have problems with the screws and it ticks me in a major way... I could have and should have bought from you and you're local for me...

Oh well, the word will get out and his day will come...
