Is there a safe glue

Postby Leea on Fri Feb 23, 2007 12:00 am

He has broken a wooden toy. That is what he is supposed to do. However it has a clean break and I thought he could get more service out of it if I glued it back together. Is there a safe glue to use?

thanks
Lee

no, sounds like he made a foot toy, or redrill hole or forget about it.

I've always heard that white glues are safe, but I agree that redrilling holds much more promise.

What is re-gluing going to accomplish? Thats what they do destroy toys and to "glue" is just dumb. So they can ingest the glue- I wouldnt want anyone to watch over our flock to "glue" a toy back together.

Why to glue

Postby Leea on Fri Feb 23, 2007 10:25 am

I admit for the most part it doesn't make sense to glue. But this is a bell shaped toy that was turned on a lathe so it's a nice one. He had been happily removing pieces of it. That is not what I want to glue. This time he snapped it cleanly in half. I think it was a fluke and that if I glue it he will get much more service out of it. I will only glue it once.

its NOT worth it! Youd be better off nailing it- did I just say that-Glad this is not one of my birds that you are caring for.
