Do males feed young?

Postby Leea on Wed Jan 24, 2007 6:19 pm

I am babysitting a macaw for a friend. He is about 10 years old. When he sits on my arm he likes to bounce his slightly open beak on my fist. I thought I saw him cough up some food. I have 2 questions;
Do males feed young?
I want to find out what various behaviors and movements mean. Where can I find out how to interpret his actions?

thanks
Lee

You should feel special. The bringing up of food is sign he loves you. They will feed mates and bring food up for their human friends too!

His regurgitating to you is a sign of love. You've made quite an impression! Enjoy the compliment but remember what a girl is called when she leads a boy on and doesn't go all the way :shock: He's seriously wanting you to make babies with him, so your failure might get on his nerves. Just be wary of mood swings.
