Hi all....I'm new here and happy I found this forum. I have a Hahns who is about 5 years old. Every morning when I wake up, he begins to vocalize and I've been wondering how this is possible. I live in a 2 story house and his cage is downstairs and I sleep upstairs. It can't be that he hears me moving around because, well.....he vocalizes at the EXACT second that I OPEN MY EYES every morning. Is that normal???
And not only that....but he only vocalizes when I open my eyes with the INTENT of getting up. In the morning I open my eyes a few times but I'm still very groggy and usually close them again for a few minutes etc. But as soon as I open them for good and think to myself ok, I really have to get up now, that exact second.....he begins to vocalize. And he doesn't stop until I get downstairs and he sees me.
Does anyone else's bird do this? Any ideas on how this can be?? My dad says he also vocalizes shortly before I come home, before my car is in the driveway....
