To clarify - he is in the fireplace in the photos - not his cage. We do not have a fire in there (the house is brand new and we have not put a log burner in there). The logs were just for show but Jackers likes pooing on them!! He has toys and his favourite are halved walnut shells!!! Made him a boiled egg tonite but he didn't like it. He is just pecking and trying food at the moment - not actually eating anything. I am hand feeding him.

Thanks. I would have preferred to have a weaned bird but this is Spain and the sooner they can get rid of their pets and get their money, the better (sorry, but it's true). They can be so cruel to their animals. Anyway, here is a couple of photos I just took of hubby with Jackers. He loves him too now. (note the scared look on hubby's face)!!!

Yes, I have to syringe feed him. As the days go on, he is "mouthing" more food although not appearing to eat any of it. Today he had a good go at some olives with anchovies in and some Brussel sprouts. We have about 40 olive trees here (only baby ones) and apparently they love to eat them straight from the tree as well. We will see next year. They are ripe around December.
