ROUGHLY ABOUT DEC 10TH or 11th I PURCHASED A 6 MONTH OLD BLUE AND GOLD HE WAS FINE WHEN I GOT HIM , I PICKED HIM UP TONIGHT AND WAS HOLDING HIM IN MY ARMS LIKE A BABY , HE JUST LAYED THERE LOL SO I RUBBED HIS CHEST AS I RUBBED I NOTICED HE IS MISSING FEATHERS ON HIS CHEST , IS THAT NORMAL , AND IT LOOKS AS THOUGH HIS CHEST IS PUFFED UP ,I,M VERY CONCERNED DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY KNOWLEGE OF THIS ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED ,I'M SURE MY AVIAN VET WILL KNOW BUT I CANT MAKE A APPOINTMENT UNTIL MONDAY POSSIBLY TUESDAY.

    Moulting

    It sounds like your macaw is going through his first good molt.

    The "bulge" you see is his crop full of food. This is normal.
