Need help on a plucked B&G, please.

Postby kansasbirdguy on Tue Dec 12, 2006 11:12 pm

I am considering buying a very plucked B&G. When the women sent pics it was like nothing I have ever seen and I have seen several plucked birds. If there is some one out there that could look at this pic and tell me what they think it would be very helpful. She says she has tested the bird and everthing came up normal.
Thanks

Depends on whether you can love this bird plucked and all. If I got it I would still vet and rerun all the tests. Plenty of showers and work towards a good healthy diet (if not on one already). With some it becomes a habit. Good luck on your decision. I couldn't see the pic.

I have a horribly plucked 7 year old B&G that I rescued a few months ago. This poor guy was locked in an unheated shed with no cage after someone dropped him off in a cardboard box.

Slowly, his feathers are coming back. I think that if you can truly love this bird with all his faults, go for it. Give him a great loving forever home. I would do so in a heartbeat!

Thank you for your thoughts. I have birds that once plucked and I loved them just as much when they where bald as I do now that they have feathers. I wish I could get the pic to post, this bird just looks different then any plucked bird I have seen.I can email the pic.
    Thanks again

A plucked bird is heartbreaking! Big kudos to anyone who has one or who will be getting one. I wish you the best in dealing with these birds and I hope that loving care, etc. will bring them back around.
