Soft sided "cages"

Postby glucci on Tue Dec 11, 2007 6:06 pm

Hello everyone:
I am thinking about buying a second cage for Peanut to be used to transport him from home to vet and return. I have been carrying his large cage to the vet with me and it is just too big for me to handle anymore. Has anyone ever used one of those soft sided cages? Do you think it is a good investment? It is either that or one of those see-thru clear cages. Anyone have any experience with either and suggestions, recommendations as to drawbacks or benefits from using one over the other? Thanks.

I, personally, don't use soft sided carriers when transporting my birds in my car. I use an airline approved under the seat type carrier and I find it works very well for me. In case of an accident, soft sides don't afford much protection.

Hi, Linda:
APologize for the long lapse between posts. Ha ha. does longer than one year count? Anyway, can you provide me a website that shows a picture of the kind of airline approved carrier that you use to transport your birds in the car? Much obliged. Gabrielle

Hi Gabrielle,
This is the carrier I use, although you can find it cheaper on other websites! http://www.windycityparrot.com/Merchant ... 2302481001
