how do tell the difference between a male and a female? I have peached faced. I bought them as a pair..but a pair of what! I can't tell.

Some mutations of Peachfaced lovebird are sex linked and you can tell genetically which is male and which is female. If yours is a green peachie, DNA sexing is necessary to distinguish gender.

I have always wondered if Pip was really a male. I have asked and asked people, how do I tell?? and pretty much have found that it isn't easy with a lovie! His behavior has led us to believe that he is male---- and his previous owner had thought the same, but then when I describe things he does to some people, they say----oh that must be a female! Pip likes to hump this rope toy and does it all the time. I know females tend to be biters more often, and pip rarely bites. It's so hard to tell from their behaviour, and with my tiels it's so easy to tell from their behaviour!
Pip is a peachface, Some mutations of peachface are sex linked? I know where Pip came from and that he had another clutchmate---just one I think and could probably find out more. This is Pip...........
