i got two love birds about two weeks ago and they dont seem to be as playfull and energetic as i have read about. they sit on their wooden perch all puffed up pretty much all day. is this normal ? the only thing i have found that they enjoy is shreading paper, which keeps them occupied for about 10 minutes. then they just sit on top of the cage. i hope you can ansewer these question.

Have you taken them to a vet and had a health exam done yet? I would definitely recommend that first to rule out any illnesses. After two weeks time they should be settled in and playing, eating and having fun! They are normally very active little guys.

Oh my gosh, my little lovie I call him the energizer bunny, he just never stops! He goes, goes, goes! He loves to play, loves toys, loves being out and flying around, harrassing the tiels! energetic and adventurous for sure! I know every bird is different, but yeah I think lovebirds are supposed to pretty active little things-----mine doesn't stop! he's hyper! so yeah, I would definitely take them to the vet to make sure they are ok.

thanks for the advice i had planned on takeing them to the vet any way just to get a check up.
