My bird has been swelled up for over 8 weeks now and wondered if this is a part of false pregnancy because thinking she was egg bound because it felt just like an egg I finally put her on heat all night for 4 nights and the swelling is gone!
I was stunned since it really felt like an egg, she was huge!! We looked all over for an egg and there is none anywhere. She seems very happy and through it all except for a little while did she act any different (like laying on the bottom of cage on her nesting material) We disturbed her during this by removing blanket from her cage in the morning and she went up on top of play area and just sat p there shutting her eyes on and off. I really thought she was trying to lay an egg or dying...
Now happy and totally normal. Is this possible that she was imitating with her body that she had an egg???

What does your vet think? Seems strange and alarming. I hope she's recovering.

Not really alarming since she acted as the same little happy bird, just strange not to know if they can really have their body act and mimic like they are carrying an egg... Mind and body makes sense to me, but I was wondering if anyone else agreed??
