Hi, my name is Carrie and I have just joined. I have a question about my baby birds. My oldest was 6 weeks yesterday and I have 4 of them. I was wondering how you can tell when they are completely weaned and about what age that would be.
Thanks

Babies wean at anywhere between 7-9 weeks on the average. You will notice them out of the box more and eating on their own. It helps to put food on the floor of the cage (and clean your tray several times a day) because that's where they naturally will start looking for food. Once you see them using the dishes you can discontinue food on the floor. Daddy bird usually teaches the babies to eat on their own and your hen may get interested in starting a new clutch at about the same time.
