Stolen Exotic Birds
Date: 2009-12-03, 10:00PM

Please help in passing along the following information: On or about November 28, 2009 the following birds were stolen, 2 Moluccan Cockatoos, both males, 2 Umbrella Cockatoos, both males, 1 Greenwing Macaw, sex unkown, 1 Blue Gold Macaw, sex unkown, and a very rare "Red Vented" Cockatoo, male, known as "Harvey". Harvey is a survivor of Huricane Katrina and was sent to us for safe keeping until such time that he could be sent to a controlled breeding program as there are an estimated only 2,000 of these birds in the world. Harvey is also micro chipped. These birds were in the care of Scott and Kim Cole of Springfield, Illinois and it has been discovered they have moved with no forwarding address with all of these birds. There have been police reports made to the Springfield Police and the State Police. If you have any information as to the were abouts of these people or the birds, you can contact the above mentioned police departments or send the information to this address. All charges will be dropped if the birds are returned. Thank you all for reading this and please pray for these helpless birds.

Good news in regards to the stolen birds from Springfield, Illinois. Some of the birds have been located and with the help of the Springfield Police have been returned to the Amazing Grace Bird Rescue. One being the Red-Vented Cockatoo "Harvey", who is now being kept at an undisclosed location pending the decision as to which of the sanctioned breeding program that are working with the Phillippine Conservation & Restoration of the Red-Vented Cockatoo Harvey will go to. Two of the other returned birds are a Moluccan Cockatoo "Tooie" and an Umbrella Cockatoo "Cujo" aka "JoJo". Two of the missing birds have been found in wonderful homes and so will be allowed to remain with their families who are helping put together information in regards to finding other birds. These two birds are a Moluccan Cockatoo "Mags" aka "Magnum" and a Goffin Cockatoo "Carmin". There are still many birds unaccountanted for and we ask for the continued observation and prayers that the people with these birds will contact us and we can put to rest the fear of where these birds have ended up. Thanks to All that kept us hoping with your encouragement and prayers. This is not over by a long shot but one bird at a time is still a time of celebration.
