How? How does this have an impact on wild Grey's which are no longer allowed to be harvested? Wouldn't they continue to breed amongst themselves? Just as wolves are still breeding, yet we have several breeds of dogs...which most certainly began as hybrids.
A study I read on Macaws said that breeding hybrids did effect the amount of purebred Hybrids being sold through captive breeding, but that it wasn't doing anything to effect the wild population. Would this not be true for Grey's as well?
I was also under the impression that African Greys are not a highly endangered species since conservation efforts and restrictions on wild caught birds have been unforced.
I absolutely could be mistaken on that though.
