I would like to get in touch with breeders of white chested blue scarlets (splendids). I have kept normal scarlets chested parakeets for over 20 years, and am considering trying this white chested mutation.
What are the going prices for these birds? Does anyone have experience importing birds from Europe? (The Netherlands or UK? )
I still have many contacts there and may consider importing some if it makes sense.

White-breasted Scarletchesteds go for about $ 1,000 each in the US.
Importing can be done, but Scarlet-chesteds are fragile and don't do well in quarantine. I have a friend who inported 20 white-breasteds about 15 years ago when they were really rare and lost none on the flight to the US, but all of them died in quarantine.
