I just got a female Splendid today and now Im on the hunt for a male - they are soooooo pretty!

I've always enjoyed the Scarlet Chested parakeet, but they never did breed for me. 
I did have them foster some English budgie eggs when I was in a real pinch. Found out too, Scarlet babies wean a week earlier than budgie chicks.... 
Thank goodness I was able to refoster in the end.

very pretty birds - mine would breed and lay but not hatch. Tried many things for nesting material found that swimming pool filter sand works the best for these little guys. raised a few with the sand. good luck
