Changing your password on Up At Six is a simple matter and I personally recommend the following rules to stick by:
1) Don't re-use passwords. Having a common password across multiple sites is a bad idea. If the database of another system you are on is compromised, having a common username/password combo will jeopardize all your accounts. Leaving you vulnerable to others being able to impersonate you.
2) Use strong passwords. Passwords (unlike typical web user names) are cAseSensitiVE - meaning a password of JOETESTER is not the same as joetester nor JoETeSTer. Some websites force case sensitivity on the user names however Up At Six for various reasons does not. Also select a reasonable length password. A password of three characters really won't be difficult to brute force crack.
3) Change your password often. The Internet is still considered the "Wild West". There's nobody out there to protect you and the task of staying secure falls on you and you alone. With all the scam sites out there and vulnerabilities in web browsers, changing your password frequently is just another layer to protect yourself from baddies.
Now, lets get started on changing your password...
Step one: Pick a strong password. If you're having difficulties coming up with something, take a look at http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/. You can either choose something easy to remember or something totally cryptic and use a password manager to remember it. Most good web browsers will offer the ability to save your password and protect access to it with one common password. Remember to use a combination of UPPER CASE, lower case, numbers and possibly special characters (!@#$%^&*()_-) - Once you've chosen your password we can move to putting it to use.
Step two: Lets enter the Up At Six UCP (User Control Panel). This found in the upper right hand corner of your screen once you're logged in. The UCP link looks like this:

Step three: Once you're in the UCP, select the Profile tab which looks like this:

Step four: You'll now notice that your options on the left have changed to Profile related options. Select "Edit Account Settings" here.

Step five: In the Edit Account Settings area, you can change a number of items related to your account. We're interested of course in the password. To make sure we don't mistype it and lock ourselves out of the account, the system requires us to enter the new password twice and to prevent the password being changed by someone who may have hijacked our session or cookie, we must also provide our current password underneath. Lets go ahead and fill those three fields out. Your new password, Confirm your new password then validate your old password in the "Current password" box. Once these three fields have been entered, we simply press the Submit button.
Step six: Now, lets get logged out and logged in to confirm everything works as advertised. Go ahead and click the log out link in the upper left corner of your screen. The log out link will look like this:

Step seven: Finally, lets get a clean slate to work with. Your old information, had you chosen to have the system "remember" you, is stored in a cookie on your machine. To ensure that we don't get the old data, lets erase the board cookies by clicking "Delete all board cookies" via the link in the lower right corner of the screen. It will look like this:

Step eight: We're done, lets get logged back in as we normally do via the link in the upper right corner of the screen.
Enjoy the system,
Damian
