Solved a problem

Postby Mercy4Free on Sat Aug 11, 2007 9:28 pm

I think I solved a problem I had......

My bird dishes would not work with the cage I have (well one set does, but not the other). The bars are vertical and the dishes were made for horizontal. So tonight I was at the Dollar Tree and they had a set of three little baskets.....so cute.......for $1. So I put the smaller dish down in the basket and hung it from the top of the cage right above their food.....and am using this one for water. I think that way they won't be able to poop in it as easily either. We shall see!

There are many types of dishes that will fit your style cage, but glad to hear you came up with a solution.
Just make sure the birds find the water and aren't afraid to use the container.

They do have a larger cup that I put on the bottom of the cage for them to bathe in. I am getting worried that the one I hung has not been found. Maybe I will drop it down some. They do drink from their bath water every now and then so I am not worried they are not getting water. And of course, i change that water every day.

If they are bathing in the water they are drinking, you should try to change it more than once a day.
