The first chick hatched this morning... I looked in the nest when she got up... seen one cracked... but it would have to wait til later... I had the baby spoon ready to scoop out egg... she usually lets me touch her back... but this time she tried to peck me... I tried to touch her again... an got pecked... she looked up at me... stood up... ever so proud... OMG... I seen this tiny.... thing move...
It's a chick!... can barley hold it's head up.... she looked t me... an gently sat back down.....

It's now app 12 hours old.....I can see the white fuzz on the head an elbows... she left the nest... to eat... and do her droppings..
when she landed back on the edge of the nest... it raised it's head up... beak open... trying to beg... with a good view... I can see its throat ? is deep red... She did attempt to feed..

I started counting the day after the last egg was laid.... my count is off this is only.. this is only day 8... first egg was laid on the 6th.. and she laid 5... one hit the floor.... that's 14 days... I know where my camp will be tomorrow.. Camera.. pen an paper...
