I see you're in Colorado and I too live there. Look into Avalon Aviary before you buy from this other person. I have a sinking suspicion who it is you're dealing with and I would like you to contact Susanne, the owner of Avalon before you buy from 'him'. I know for a fact that she has some babies that will be around 6-7 weeks old (I believe) around the 2nd week of December. I bought my caique from her and she breeds a few different species of birds. I also know that the babies she'll have ready soon came from my eclectus' mom and she produces the most wonderful babies.
I can't tell you now much her clecs are, because I bought a caique from her 5 years ago and have really never known the prices of her other birds, but I do know Susanne is a respected, quality, MAP certified breeder here in Loveland, Colorado. You can email her at susanne@aviary.com or do a Google or Ask.com search for Avalon Aviary and you can get the aviary email addy and/or the phone number. This is an excellent time to look into getting one of her babies.
A good friend who gave me my male eclectus and I, are going up to Avalon on the 16th of December to play with the new babies. Susanne's birds are healthy, well socialized, and she encourages human interaction at a young age.
Please check with her and see what you think. I don't know what part of Colorado you live in, but I'd be more than happy to meet you up there on the 16th if you'd like to really interact with these fabulous birds!

I have a 7 year old female BG macaw Bella
and a 2& 7 month old male SI ekkie Kiwi
both of which I adopted from Avalon Aviary.
Of course since they are my birds I am a bit biased suffice it to say they are awesome!!!!!
I also have an 8 year old female CAG ZaneE who would be very upset if I didn't say she is awesome also . I got ZaneE from a breeder in Litltleton.

Susanne's ekkies are more than the other price you mentioned but they are worth it she is an excellent breeder. Her birds are raised to be happy well adjusted and healthy. It would be worth your time to check her babies out.
