You should join Susan Friedman's group for parrot behavior. It is a free Yahoo group and I suggest you contact the immediately. They are: ParrotBAS-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Take a look at where this female was and where she is now. She's had her life ripped away from her and now she's dealing with an entirely new situation again. I'd be biting too. Giving her a 'time out' is ludicrous as she has absolutely no idea what you're doing or why. You're only making her situation worse. Simply leaving her alone except to feed her and keep her cage clean is the most respectful thing you can do for her until you get some knowledgeable assistance in caring for her properly right now. You can talk softly to her as you pass by her cage, but keeping her in a low-key environment right now is important.
Obviously she is also hormonal and protecting her eggs. Contact with a good reputable breeder would be a good idea until you can get more information about her behavior and I would do that asap.

Her behavior is not going to change, nor is she going to accept you in four days.

I had similar problem with my first bird. (senegal parrot) He was great when i visited previous to bringing him home. But i was on his turf with his previous slave around...so really he was comfortable with his surroundings. When i took him home and tried to handle him the same way...watch out! The little bugger turned on me! I was quite upset as you are. You have to remember that you have disrupted this birds life so she is a bit stressed. With my senegal when i got the little snapper home i just put his cage next to the couch in our common area where everybody would hang out. I talked to him and fed him treats (carefully)and just let him adjust. It took time but he eventually did. One day he just slid down the side of the cage and hopped on my arm. It didnt fix overnight but let him/her come around on there own time. Continue to introduce yourself everyday in a positive and calm way and i am sure you will win her over! Eclectus are smart so give her time to buy your act!...lol It is tough to get by the blood spilling bites but i am sure you will manage! Good luck and keep us informed!

I saw this problem on another site...this is what was suggested.

Don't take her eggs from her, provide her with a nest box and let her sit on them for 28 days and then take them away, this should ease her need to sit on eggs. The person said that she will continue to lay eggs up to 12 or more if you keep taking them away. It could also cause her to get egg bound, which is life threatening. Also you can try going to your local craft store and purchasing fake eggs, remove her eggs and replace them with the fake ones...after some time about a month she will think they're not fertile and leave the eggs alone.

Because she in her breeding cycle, don't think that she can't be a loving pet. Female Ekkie's are known to get aggressive at this time. You should give her space but don't ignore her. Just sit near her and talk to her, leave the TV on for her or the radio. Make sure she knows she not bad and that you love her. This breeding cycle will soon pass.

If your having a problem feeding her without getting bit. Try getting a long perch, so you can get her to step up out of the cage, then place her on a play gym and you can do whatever you want to her cage and save yourself from bloody fingers.

Hope this helps!!!
