The problem with Eclectus and yellow is :
When you notice a yellow stripe on the chest area below the legs and in front of the vent
These are not total feather coloring but rather a well pronounced "Stripe" horizontally
This is an indication of liver disease or the early on stages of such.
A yellow feather sounds like a hybrid which is very common in Eclectus. Since there are seven species and their cross breeding this amounts to not only a disparaging "contamination" of the species but also feather conditions that show this unusual out cropping.
Again there is nothing to support what is described only as "fear mongering" by the anti-pellets crowd, especially when using pellets designed specifically for "Eclectus" And furthermore no pellet manufacture says to feed pellets ONLY. It is always proper to feed in addition to a healthy pellet diet those fresh foods that each species needs. In the case of Eclectus fruit is the choice of many professional breeders (like myself) and be sure to feed only FRESH ORGANIC FRUITS AND VEGS.
