I apologize if this isn't the proper place for this post; it appears to be, no offense intended if I made an error.
I live in Ulster county NY, Exit 20 off the NY State Thruway; I have an (approximately) 5 year old Sun Conure whom I believe to be male (because of his interaction with my Lovebirds, no sexing was done.) My young adult daughter has become increasingly unable to tolerate the bird's vocalizations. This bird does not scream as much as most Suns do, but his noise is quickly becoming too much for her to deal with. This is a wonderful companion bird. He is in perfect health (veterinary reference available), I have a closed aviary (no birds come in from anywhere else and my birds do not go anywhere except the vet); he is in full feather and flies onto your shoulder. He does some "talking" and laughs and is totally NON aggressive (has never bitten anyone.) He is accustomed to a quiet adult household. It has become increasingly difficult for me to spend time with the bird as I have in the past, due to work obligations and family matters, so he is alone a great deal (and not used to it.) My daughter has asked me many times to find him a new home, as his vocalizing is just too much for her nerves and frankly it's getting to me, too. I have advertised widely on the Internet but I am very particular about where this bird goes. Potential adopter MUST HAVE AVIAN VETERINARY checkable reference and must agree to a house check. If you are interested, please contact me at ModahAni@gmail.com. thank you very much.
