parrots and pellet stoves

Postby Molly333 on Fri Nov 07, 2008 10:10 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to do some research for a friend of mine. He will be getting a baby african grey from a breeder and plans to keep him/her in his family room. It's a very spacious area where most of the action is, yet big enough to allow some peace and quiet if and when need be. Anyway, my question is whether his pellet stove will be of any harm to the grey? His stove is in the same room and he does run a humidifier all winter, which is also in the family room. There is some odor to pellet stoves not to mention the occasional "smoke" at start up or maintenance. Anyone out there have an info? The rest of his house can be a little chilly by my standards so, moving the bird is not an option....but, unfortunately, not getting a grey at all would be if it were to be harmed in any way...

thanks for your help...I know this is the "conure" section, but you've all been very helpful in the past....

I can't answer your question but I do think it is wise to get an answer from a knowledgable person before getting the grey. Have you posted this question in the grey forum?
