I find the article a bit misleading - while the legislation does state about banning the "possession" -- they are not interested in birds that are currently in the state as pets.

It should be noted that the article does correctly state that the AFA "represents breeders" and that is their main concern, that breeders be allowed to continue to overpopulate some of the bird species.

This is from an organization that has respectfully represented birds in general and has a reputation of only the finest for our birds either as pets or breeders. And I find your comments misleading, that is not what was said, your quote "their main concern" shows your lack of knowledge in what the AFA is about or any of their mission statements.

I do not have to defend the rights of American's to breed birds as well as, your comments about "TAKING AWAY RIGHTS OF AMERICAN'S TO ENJOY AVICULTURE." You speak of a slippery slope that once begun is hard to stop.

Legislation by means of a Body of Congress is represented by the people whereas this body of "Bureaucrats" are accountable to no one. Any good legislation has accountability. This sitting body has neither and it reeks of "Liberal Psychobabbles."

By the way, if your so against breeders where did you get your birds from?

I've read your arguments and it reminds me Communism and Socialism both I have fought to defeat, with my blood and career, only to come home and find those with "my better interest" making claims to my freedoms.

And I have read the comments about the so called Game Board representative saying that they are not coming after "birds that are now presently in homes" but if you believe that I have a lot of stuff to sell you...

    1)Brooklyn Bridge
    2)Farmland in Florida
    3) and other stuff if you are so inclined to believe

This is Bird Talk magazine also, and you dismiss their report? What next the AAV ?

Come on BIRDMASTER I don't mind you making claims but show some evidence of your babble.

    Here is mine:
For over 25 years: BIRD TALK
Bird Talk Magazine, the world’s most widely read pet bird publication, has provided expert information on the ever-evolving field of bird care for the past 25 years. Bird Talk supports national and local avian organizations and actively fosters a sense of community for its readership. It serves as a touchstone for educating the public on the best care for pet birds.

    For almost 35 years: AFA
The American Federation of Aviculture (AFA) is a nonprofit national organization established, whose purpose is to represent all aspects of aviculture and to educate the public about keeping and breeding birds in captivity.

    Position papers: http://www.afabirds.org/position.shtml

Not to mention they publish "The Watchbird" which is in my opinion the second best publication out there in aviculture.

So now Mr. Self Proclaimed BIRDMASTER, we don't mind you coming on and schleping your web site or making your "estemed 10 year observation of the bird world" (which by the way I had you beat when I was 10 years old) as you see it. But don't expect to come in here and bad mouth two of the most respected Bird organizations without some kind of a challange?
