Need info on RED Factor Suns

Postby nancd777 on Wed May 23, 2007 8:40 am

Are Red Factor Sun Conures pure bred or are they mixed with another kind of conure. What do they look like and how can you tell?

Thanks,

For all I know red factor suns are just very red suns. Birds are not "breeds" but species. You have breeds in domesticated animals such as dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, etc... Parrots are by far not domesticated, so they are species, and as long as they are not hybrids they are "pure".

Red factor suns are just very red suns... at least from what I know... probably came about from selectively breeding suns with quite a bit of red, but it's hard to say.... least bit here's a copule pics

Just wanted to make sure you knew the difference! Bit of a pet peeve you could say when people get the two mixed up, as if birds were like dogs...

Regardless, would love to see pics of your two!
