sun conures

Postby burl on Mon Apr 23, 2007 12:41 pm

i just got a new pair of sun conures, they have laid a couple clutches of infertile eggs. the female is obviously viable to breed, but the male is 12 years old, is he too old?
if so should i switch him out with a younger male?
any info would be appreciated.
thanks

Birds can never be "too old" so to speak... They can breed for their entire lifetime. It is possible though that the male (or female) is infertile (if you are sure you have a male/female pair). First time breeders also don't tend to get things right the first time.
