Looking for a special person

Postby Lizzy277 on Thu Jan 25, 2007 5:20 pm

I have three birds that I do not want to see split up, but I can no longer keep. I do not have time to give them since starting up graduate school.

2 of the birds are wild caught Cherry head conures. I do not know how old they are, only that they have been together since entering the country over a decade ago. They are not tame, and spend a lot of time guarding the nest box or preening each other. I am pretty sure they are both female, but I have not attempted to sex them.

The third bird was abandoned by his owner when he moved to Mexico. The man went on many vacations and the bird was boarded with the two Cherry headed conures. It is a Mitred Conure.

All three birds are very bonded to eachother. If anyone is interested, please call 952.944.2132. If shipping is necessary, it is at the new owner's expense, otherwise I am only asking a small adoption fee of $300 for the 3 birds.

I appreciate anyone who wanted to help these birds out, but my fiance and I have worked out a plan to give them all the attention they need. I cannot bear parting with these crazy birds.

I was going to ask why you felt you had to re-home them as even when I dont have time for mine, they are together and keep ea other occupied, plus the cage is near a window, they can watch outside. etc...also I have dogs. So they are never alone. There are times when I dont have time to interact with my conure as much as I want too or what he wants to. But he has leanred to adapt and roll with whatever life throws his way and he is happy with his buddie (a budgie).

good luck with your solution, Georgie

Well I am in lawschool and work fulltime 45 miles from home. My fiance and I were having some difficult times, and I did not want anyone to suffer from my inability to provide time. I also raise chihuahuas and keep 4 companion birds who are all not keen on sharing my attention (2 Amazons/ African Grey/ and a Sun Conure). Not to mention I have a pair of Umbrella Cockatoos and parrolets who are also currently breeding.

Basically I was overwhelmed.
