Suns are very beautiful and in my opinion this is their undoing. Because of this beauty they tend to get a lot of extra attention which can lead to posessiveness of the owner. To gain attention many of them will start screaming and a sun scream cannot be ignored. This probably is the main reason so many suns have been given up.

Since you have not had your sun too long try to keep him well socialized with many people. Teach him to stay in his cage or play perch and play with toys for periods of time.

Suns are not too different from the other conures. They are funny friendly,feisty and noisy. In general any info about any of the conures will apply to a sun. -----Yogi
