I received my 5 year old Gold Capped Conure a few months ago after living with his previous owners in an outdoor porch area for 5 years. Ever since getting him I have been trying to bond with him. Recently he has started doing this weird head bobbing with his mouth open as well as rubbing the middle of his beak on his perch, when I talk to him. Does anyone else's conure do this? If so is it a good thing or am I making him nervous? Also, I'd love any and all tips on training my conure to trust me enough to step up or at least let me pet him. He's very nervous and runs away to the corner of his cage or tries to bite if you get too close. Thank you in advance!
